The map takes place in at Group 's Kino Facility, at an abandoned theater in Germany, and it is the first map available to the player in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The map introduces some new components to the Zombies mode, including Crawler Zombies and the Fire Pit trap.
The Thundergun is introduced in this map as a new Wonder Weapon. A fractured portion of the map is featured in Revelations. Due to the Wunderwaffe DG-2 overloading the teleporter in Der Riese , the Ultimis crew get sent through time and space and end up at Group 's Kino Facility located at an abandoned theater in Germany in These events also caused Richtofen to drop his diary.
Upon arriving, they must face limitless hordes of the undead as they continue their journey. This is where players spawn in at the start of the game. It is quite large and has plenty of room to run around. It contains the teleporter "mainframe link," Quick Revive for points points on solo , an M14 for points points for ammo refill , an Olympia for points points for ammo refill , four barriers.
A Mystery Box spawn is also located here but the box will never spawn here , on the balcony. There are a total of four barricaded windows. There are three doors available for moving to new rooms and areas: at the top right of the staircase purchasable for points, one to the left under the staircase that is also points, and one directly ahead under the staircase which cannot be opened from the Lobby; it opens when the power is turned on.
There is a meteor players can find in the corner of the room in a jar by the bottom window. If they hold the "use" button on all three of them, the song " " by Elena Siegman will start playing.
Players can also see the Mystery Box from the far window near the Quick Revive if it spawns in observable locations. It is not advised to stay here past round 5. If players go to the window on the top floor and look towards the right, they can see a couple of portraits of an unknown person, similar to the one next to the portraits of the four main characters in the upstairs hallway.
On the Wii, the Mystery Box spawn is moved. It is now straight up the stairs and to the left a bit. This room is accessed by opening up the downstairs door of the Lobby. It is a fairly confined space, but with only two windows, it is very easy to hold out in here but also easy to get overrun. This room also has the only Fire Pit trap on the map, and the only one in Zombies prior to the release of Ascension.
The lower hall is considered to be the worst along with the Back Room to stay in for long periods due to bad entrances for zombies layouts. There is a steel door that can be opened for points. The alley is very tight and can be difficult to maneuver around, as zombies can jump down from the roof, but it can be easily defended.
It is recommended to go by the side closest to the Back Room during a Hellhound round. Double Tap is located on the end closest to the starting area, through the iron door, and is right by a Zombie spawn point.
An AKu , which costs for ammo refill , is also located in the Alley. Note that Zombies will jump down from the roof of the building very often. Players should be wary of all surroundings, it is easy to become overwhelmed.
There is also a secret radio in this area. Even though this is one of the only ways to get to the power switch the other being through the door to the right of the mainframe in the starting room , it is advised that players who are new to Nazi Zombies should not go this way, for the reasons stated above. This room connects the Alley to the stairwell down to stage right. It's suggested to get out of this room as fast as possible. This room consists of one the three meteors the player can hold down the "use" button to listen to the easter egg song.
The player can find a meteor next to one of the windows on a shelf next to a bunch of random black letters that read "Manhattan down! This may be a warning or secret message. This room is small and hard to maneuver around. However, there is a narrow hallway with an Electro-Shock Defense in it, making holding out in this room easy as long as there is a person covering the window that's behind the hallway and watching for the zombies that fall from the ceiling.
There is a Mystery Box spawn and a PM63 here for points points for ammo refill. In the room with the barrier, and the bathroom sign, if the player holds the "use" button, one can hear the four characters say unique quotes. Also by pressing "use" on any of the portraits, the character will say a quote, even on the blank photo.
The foyer is one of the larger rooms, and it has plenty of room to run around in. However, there are three windows in here.
The second, and only other Sentry Gun on this map is located here. Speed Cola is also located here, along with an MP40 and the Stakeout. This room has the classic stereotype WWII zombie style. This room is a little larger than the Back Room. There are two windows, two Electroshock Defenses, and a Mystery Box spawn. The MP5K is also available for purchase off the wall in this room. This is the last room with a meteor in it to activate the easter egg song.
The meteor is on a black table near one of the windows, behind two mannequins. Watch out, because there is also a hole in the ceiling here, perhaps added to balance this side out with the left side as the left side has the alley, where zombies can jump down from the roof.
Do not dwell in this room too much as zombies can get in fast and it is a small, cramped area. This area is the best area for newbies due to large space and good entrances for zombies layouts. It has 2 windows on the right and the left of the front wall and a mystery box location in the middle. Next to the left window there's a Claymore wall purchase for points and in front of it there's the power switch and the M16 wall purchase. Upon turning on the power the curtains will be opened giving you access to the theater room.
Also the front door in the lobby will be opened giving a direct access to theater from lobby. This led to the creation of Requiem with Weaver being one of its leaders. While Weaver offered his help to protect Maxis, she refused; arguing she must stay in the field. Believing the BND was compromised by Omega Group, she was now operating without authorization or oversight. Weaver sent men to retrieve Maxis, but she managed to fend them off and left Germany to meet a new contact within Omega Group, Sergei Ravenov , who she believed could be turned.
After a stop in Romania, she traveled to Vietnam where an Omega base, Outpost 25, was located under the leadership of William Peck. With the information provided by Ravenov, Maxis realized the full extent of Omega Group's plans: controlling the bridges between their world and the Dark Aether to harness and weaponize Aetherium to win the Cold War. In June , Maxis was captured while infiltrating Outpost Interrogated by Peck, she was soon thrown in the Dark Aether after refusing to disclose information and withstanding torture, where she stayed trapped far longer than what it seemed from the real world as time flowed differently within the Dark Aether.
Maxis survived the shadowy hellscape long enough to reflect on herself and her path, scavenging weapons and gear to form a new outfit. Two days later, she was rescued by Requiem which, with the help of Ravenov, infiltrated the overrun facility and opened a portal for her to escape. After battling an Orda , she followed Requiem as they were leaving the area while Ravenov rejoined Omega Group as a large operation was taking place in the Ural Mountains.
Upon returning to Requiem HQ, Maxis was placed in a quarantine before being tested. While Requiem estimated she spent roughly 48 hours in the Dark Aether, physiological and metabolic data from the tests indicated she spent several months in the other dimension. During the following months, Maxis was kept in a sterile room as she was questioned by Mackenzie Carver , Oskar Strauss , and Elizabeth Grey as well as Weaver, who visited her often.
Alone, she started a diary, looking back at dreams and past experiences. She also used her radio to talk to the strike teams involved in Operation Threshold in the Ural Mountains. However, Requiem Senior staff decided to take away her radio as she was deemed too unstable following outbursts against medical staff.
To help with the loneliness, Weaver offered Maxis a rottweiler and was now permitted to walk around the grounds twice daily. Nevertheless, by October , Maxis went behind Weaver's back and, with the help of Ravenov and an uncertain Elizabeth Grey's personal frequency , established a covert communication line with the Requiem strike teams in the Ural Mountains.
She encouraged them to seek Ravenov and help him stopping Omega Group's Operatsiya Inversiya which involved Reality Inversion warheads built by Peck using Tempests and designed to create massive dimensional breaches and Outbreak Zones. Inside a missile battery , Ravenov, with the help of a Requiem strike team, managed to change the designated target from the US East coast to the Pacific Ocean. After battling Legion and destroying the massive Aetherium crystals that blocked the missile silos, the three warheads launched towards the Pacific.
Despite her good intentions, however, the hijacking of a Requiem strike team caused major fallout for Requiem's higher echelon. The strike team barely avoided court martial, only saved on behalf of the Director, and Weaver decided to take the heat for Elizabeth handing Samantha her comm line. Enraged and upset at Samantha commandeering his troops without telling him, Weaver stormed into Samantha's room and berated her for her actions.
While Samantha tried to defend herself, claiming it was the right thing to do, Weaver retorted that she was told to simply care for the rottweiler. Samantha was then banned from her walks and once again confined to her quarters, Weaver claiming someone else would walk the dog. Unbeknownst to her, however, Samantha was being more directly scrutinized by the Director. During further observation from Grey, it was discovered that Samantha was reacting differently to Aetherium contamination than any other test subject.
To that end, the Director green-lit further tests for Samantha. On December 1st, Samantha was dragged screaming from her quarters for testing, while a despondent Weaver claimed he would take care of the rottweiler. Two days later, Samantha was brought to the BLOCK 8 Testing Facility where she immediately attempted to escape, before being detained and put in isolation. On December 5th, she met with the Director of Requiem, who personally oversaw the tests regarding her telekinetic abilities.
This first meeting, while officially reported as an "orientation" to "establish boundaries" that went well for both parties, the Director actually interrogated and electrocuted Samantha, asking her various questions about her life which he seemed to already know. The next day, Samantha attempted to escape from her cell block using an improvised lockpick made from a plastic fork.
December 7th, Samantha underwent another session with the Director, where he asked Samantha to use her powers - to no avail. Fifteen days after her arrival, the Director had yet another session with Maxis. This time, however, he purposefully played with her emotions in an attempt to provoke her into using her powers - specifically by threatening to make Weaver "disappeared" for his viewed failures, as well as calling Samantha a "pathetic, sad, little lost girl", which caused Samantha to shatter the glass protecting the Director with her powers in anger.
Samantha remained in Block 8, but on February 2nd, , with Weaver by her side, she was able to rescue a captured Strike Team, along with Raptor One , from their death by Lev Kravchenko piloting an Omega helicopter, by opening a Dark Aether portal within Berlin , allowing them to escape to the same cell that Maxis and Weaver are in.
As she used her powers, her entire eyes were glowing purple. As the Director reviewed the footage, he noted that, as her powers were growing, Maxis presented a problem that needed to be dealt with. On May 28th, the Director met with Grey and Weaver and made the decision to approve Samantha for "Operation First Domino", with the intent of using her powers to assist Requiem. He noted, though, that she would not be approved to be able to directly re-join Requiem. Before saying what would be her goodbyes to Weaver and Grey the latter who she would reveal she viewed as "more than just a friend" , Samantha manifested in Test Site Anna during the Forsaken's escape from the Dark Aether.
She would hold him back with her powers as the Requiem strike-team crafted an Aetherium Neutralizer, using it to travel to Main Street where Samantha and the Forsaken battled.
There, she assisted the strike-team in taking down the Forsaken for good by charging up two energy cannons nearby. When the Forsaken began his full invasion of Earth, Samantha sacrificed herself by flying into the Dark Aether portal in the Forsaken, closing the rift and allowing the Forsaken to be captured by Peck's machine.
The ultimate fate of Samantha is unknown after this point. Allegiance : Mil-Sim. Call of Duty Wiki Explore. Cold War. Weapons in Explore Wikis Community Central. Register Don't have an account?
