Recently I had a catastrophic 'crash' following hard drive failure. If so then yes you need a copy of the old version of Office but you will not need to install it. If you have any Office 97, , installation discs you can simply switch out that disc in disc drive stop the Office installation if it tries when FP asks for one of the old copies of Office. Once Windows finds that old disc you can switch back to the FP disc and continue the install.

I have found it easier to copy both the FP disc and the old Office version disc to my hard drive and install from there, pointing to where I copied the old Office files when FP requests them You just point to where you copied the files when the FP install asks for them. This also means that if you can find a copy of one of those old Office versions you can download and save it directly to your hard drive.

Again, you do not need to install it. There are various places on the net where you can buy or download free copies of these old versions of Office, but be careful.

Office programs including FrontPage are best installed in chronological order - that is FrontPage followed by Office Reversing this order you may have to repair Office Once installed, both will run without issue.

Except: If you have Windows 7, some definitely not all users have problems with FrontPage, such as "Out of Memory" issues. Use the Compatiblity Troubleshooter to fix these problems.
